About the Position
We are seeking a Senior Support Engineer (Atlassian) to serve as an Atlassian Administrator, responsible for managing and optimizing the Jira Cloud environment while providing ongoing support to end users.
Responsibilities
- Administer and configure Jira Cloud environments to align with organizational requirements
- Review and improve existing workflows, permission schemes, and automation rules
- Develop, test, and implement automation rules to streamline workflows and processes
- Set up and maintain Jira projects, schemes, workflows, permissions, and notifications
- Document existing and newly created processes within Jira
- Create and manage users, permissions, and projects on a daily basis
- Support and further develop existing Python scripts using Atlassian Python APIs
- Control changes to permission schemes, screens, and workflows through automation and scripting
- Build automation for the creation and modification of projects, schemes, and workflows
- Monitor and troubleshoot Jira Cloud issues, providing timely resolutions
- Provide ongoing support to Jira Cloud users, addressing issues and questions
- Maintain Jira Cloud environments to ensure optimal performance and reliability
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience administering Jira Cloud, with a strong understanding of differences from Server/Datacenter versions
- Background in building and supporting large-scale Help Centers for enterprise-wide support with shared automation and configuration across multiple projects
- Proficiency in Python scripting using Atlassian Python APIs
- Skills in configuring Jira workflows, permission schemes, and screens
- Expertise in developing automation rules within Jira Cloud for schemes, workflows, and projects
- Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) or Atlassian Certified Associate (ACA) certification in Jira Service Management
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Adaptavist ScriptRunner
- Familiarity with Jira Misc Workflow Extension (JMWE)
