About the Position

We are seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial Senior Vice President / General Manager, Audience & Growth to scale audience reach, engagement, and consumer revenue across a portfolio of 10+ global digital media publications. As the leader, you will define and execute a holistic growth strategy that transforms audience reach into loyal communities and sustainable consumer revenue streams. We envision the ideal candidate to be a modern media operator with a strong growth mindset and a general manager’s perspective, having a deep understanding of how audience engagement, community, and monetization work together to build durable, scalable media businesses.

Locations: New York, San Francisco, Boston

US-based: NYC, Austin, SF, or Boston

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy and performance for audience growth across all publications and platforms.
  • Build and scale community-driven audience engagement strategies that deepen reader relationships and loyalty.
  • Own the growth of affiliate commerce and subscription businesses across the portfolio.
  • Lead paid subscription and premium membership strategy.
  • Oversee paid acquisition across search, social, and emerging channels.
  • Define KPIs across audience growth, engagement, and revenue.
  • Leverage data and experimentation to optimize performance.
  • Deliver insights and reporting to executive leadership.

Requirements

  • 10–15+ years in digital media, consumer platforms, or growth-focused environments.
  • Proven success in audience growth, engagement, and consumer revenue.
  • Deep expertise in SEO, social, newsletters, and digital distribution.
  • Experience scaling affiliate commerce and/or subscription businesses.
  • Multi-brand or portfolio experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong general management mindset balancing strategy and execution.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to collaborate across editorial, product, tech, and commercial teams.
  • Deep understanding of growth analytics and conversion optimization.
  • Experience with experimentation frameworks (A/B testing, etc.).
  • Ability to translate data into strategic business decisions.

We Offer

A reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role is $300,000 plus bonus.
