SOC/SIEM Engineer (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

• Threat Identification and Assessment: Identify and evaluate threats and attack techniques, monitor dashboards and alerts, analyze log files, classify, analyze, and escalate security incidents as necessary.
• SOC-Reports: Create daily and weekly SOC reports and define and document KPIs.
• SIEM Infrastructure: Develop and administer the SIEM infrastructure.
• Use Case Development: Develop use cases based on threats and attack patterns, implement them, and regularly recertify.
• Documentation: Document existing and new use cases.
• Log Source Analysis: Analyze connected log sources and develop parsers (e.g., using Regex).
• Alert Development: Create and expand alerts based on known threats and attack patterns.
• Dashboard Creation: Create and improve dashboards.
• Technical Support: Provide operational support for technical security issues.
• Vulnerability Analysis: Conduct vulnerability analyses and develop solution concepts for networks, servers, and client systems.
• Incident Investigation: Investigate and analyze security incidents.
• Travel: Occasional travel required.

Requirements

• Education: Completed studies in IT Security/Computer Science, training as an IT specialist, or a comparable qualification.
• Experience: Extensive practical experience in a similar position.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of threat scenarios, prioritization, and attack vectors.
• Technical Skills:
  • Deep knowledge of IP networks (OSI model).
  • Good administrative knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, including hardening (e.g., according to CIS benchmarks) and log analysis.
  • Confident demeanor, excellent communication and presentation skills, and good English language skills.
