About the Position
We are seeking a Software Developer to join our team in Lima, Peru. In this role, you will contribute to building and evolving critical solutions that support key banking operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-performing applications aligned with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the development and evolution of core banking applications to support essential business operations
- Perform corrective, adaptive, and evolutionary maintenance of mission-critical applications with high availability requirements
- Analyze and resolve production incidents to minimize the impact on banking operations
- Participate in functional, integration, and certification testing to ensure application stability before deployment
Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in software development or a similar area
- Hands-on experience with application development in COBOL on IBM z/OS
- Experience with batch process programming using JCL
- Proficiency in transactional application development with CICS
- Solid knowledge of IBM Db2 and SQL databases for data management and querying
- Excellent written and verbal command of English and Spanish at a B2 level or higher
Nice to Have
- Additional expertise with COBOL for maintaining and enhancing legacy business-critical systems
- Broader experience with CICS for building and supporting transactional applications
- Advanced skills in JCL for automating and orchestrating batch processing workflows
- Deeper knowledge of DB2 for optimizing database performance and managing large volumes of data
