About the Position
We are looking for a hands-on Software Engineer to join a product-focused Engineering Team building scalable cloud applications and modern AI-powered solutions. In this role, you will contribute across the full software development life cycle – from technical design and implementation to deployment and optimization.
You will work on back-end services, cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, and AI-enabled product capabilities. The position requires strong Python expertise, solid knowledge of AWS, and practical experience in building solutions with LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, vector stores, and agentic workflows.
You will collaborate closely with product and cross-functional teams, contribute to architecture and engineering best practices, and help deliver high-quality software across multiple parallel initiatives in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable back-end services and APIs using Python
- Build, maintain, and optimize data processing pipelines using AWS services such as S3 and Lambda
- Design and implement AI-powered product features, including LLM-based services, RAG pipelines, and multi-agent workflows
- Evaluate and apply generative AI tooling such as LLM APIs, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks to improve the product capabilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
- Contribute to software architecture, technical design, and technology-selection decisions
- Write clean, maintainable, Production-grade code in an Agile development environment
- Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews, source control, and CI/CD practices
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability across cloud-based systems
- Work across multiple concurrent projects and priorities in collaboration with North American stakeholders
Requirements
- 7+ years of software development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Python and JavaScript
- Solid experience in building back-end services and APIs
- Strong knowledge of relational databases
- Experience with source control and CI/CD practices
- Good understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and engineering best practices
- Experience in working with AWS and services such as S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, and OpenSearch
- Practical experience with AI/LLM engineering, including LLM APIs, prompt/context engineering, RAG pipelines, vector stores, or agent orchestration frameworks
- Strong skills in data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving
- Familiarity with both front-end and back-end technologies and frameworks
- Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
- Ability to work with distributed teams, including North American stakeholders
- Self-motivation, task-orientation, and ability to resolve issues promptly to meet business deadlines
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- English level – Upper-Intermediate or higher
Nice to Have
- Experience in fine-tuning or evaluating LLMs
- Experience in building Production-grade agentic systems
- Knowledge of MCP (Model Context Protocol) or similar tool-calling/agent standards
- Skills with AI observability tools such as Langfuse or Phoenix
- Knowledge of LLMOps practices and tooling
- Experience in energy, SaaS, or data analytics domains
