Software Tester

About the Position

We are seeking a Software Tester to perform various types of testing on web software. You will need to have strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform white box, black box (functional), gray box, gorilla, agile, web service testing, and manual testing of web software.
• Execute and enhance automated tests for existing functionality.
• Produce manual test scripts/test cases.
• Generate user documentation, including UAT scripts and training materials.
• Build and deploy software applications on multiple environments using tools such as ANT, Maven, and Tomcat.
• Analyze business requirements.
• Complete tasks with a certain degree of creativity and latitude.

Requirements

• BS degree in computer science, computer information systems, or minimum of 2+ years of experience in a related field.
• Motivated individual with analytical skills who can quickly learn new applications, share knowledge, and thrive in an environment where solutions often need to be independently researched.
• Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to speak in public and under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail with an overriding desire to validate software adherence to business requirements; troubleshooting software and system defects, and willingness to offer productive ideas on improving software quality and usability.
• Knowledge of issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla) is preferred.
• Experience with one or more databases (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server) is preferred.
• Familiarity with JSP with one or more Java Application Servers (e.g., Tomcat, Oracle), version control (e.g., SVN), Maven, or Ant.
• Experience in the public health sector is desirable.
• Must be a United States citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986.

Two Impulse is a privately owned limited company. We are a software house and web agency. We develop SaaS solutions, applications, websites, and mobile solutions for businesses. We use mostly Grails and WordPress. In short, we are a Grails and WordPress shop.
