Softwareentwickler SQL (m/w/d)

flatexDEGIRO SE, the leading and fastest-growing online brokerage platform in Europe, is seeking a Softwareentwickler SQL to join our team in Andernach, Germany. If you are passionate about developing and modernizing core banking systems with a focus on SQL and Java, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

• Develop and expand our core banking system with a focus on SQL development, translating business requirements into efficient database solutions.
• Transition the development from SQL to a modern Java-based architecture.
• Analyze existing end-to-end processes and transform them into a future-proof technological stack.
• Develop backend components using technologies such as Java, REST APIs, Microservices, messaging infrastructures, and PostgreSQL.
• Work in agile teams following Scrum, ensuring high software quality through unit and integration tests.
• Support the maintenance and development of tax reporting for the German and Austrian tax models.
• Actively contribute to the long-term transformation from SQL-centric development to a modern Java architecture.

Requirements

• Completed studies in a technical, mathematical, or comparable field, or equivalent qualifications through education and practical experience.
• Solid knowledge in SQL development and experience with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
• Initial practical experience with Java or willingness to learn modern Java technologies in the long term.
• Knowledge of common development tools and technologies such as Git, Quarkus, Kafka, Kubernetes, or REST APIs is advantageous.
• Ideally, experience in the banking or financial services sector and banking expertise in tax or reporting environments.
• Quick comprehension, high willingness to learn, and a structured and self-reliant working style.
• Team spirit, commitment, and excellent German and good English language skills in speech and writing.
