Solution Architect

We opened the doors of our Business Development Centre (BDC) in the heart of Hyderabad in December 2020. Young at heart, the BDC is a wonderful space that strengthens Backbase’s presence in the APAC region. The physical presence of great talent and support also makes way for long-term relationships with customers.

As a Solution Architect, it’s your job to ascertain that envisaged solutions become reality. Taking this client-facing role, you are equally comfortable in deep-dive technical workshops and in board-level sales presentations. Having earned your stripes in designing web-based architectures, you have no problem finding the scope in large-scale, complex projects.

To the development team, you are the vital mainstay during processes of implementation. To customers and partners, you are the expert liaison with a keen feel for their needs. So besides being a great technician, you are also a considerate companion who delivers remarkable results on a continuous basis.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into a distinguished design.
• Dedicate yourself to security, deployment, performance, caching, sizing, scalability, and serviceability.
• Provide guidance and oversight to your team.
• Create technical architecture documentation.
• Work with the QA lead to define the test strategy.
• Lead DevOps to define and implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure that implementations meet non-functional requirements.
• Travel significantly, spending time on-site during the inception phase and when providing training and workshops.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of the Java platform.
• Experience with Spring, Maven, and Jenkins.
• Demonstrable understanding of Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) and Micro-Services Architecture.
• Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks, MVC patterns, and REST APIs, ideally including RAML and/or OpenAPI.
• Knowledge of architectural frameworks and best practices.
• Professional experience with Enterprise Integration Patterns and Frameworks.
• Broad operational knowledge of application servers, databases, load balancers, and other infrastructure components required to deploy web applications in a highly available and scalable environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience in creating solutions for financial services, especially banking.
• Experience with Portal/Web Content Management.
• Familiarity with architectural patterns such as Microservices, CQRS, and event sourcing.
• Experience with server virtualization and containers technology such as Docker, VMWare, HyperV.
• Professional experience with Integration Platforms and API Gateway.
