About the Position

Dentsply Sirona is the world’s largest manufacturer of professional dental products and technologies, with over a century of innovation and service to the dental industry and patients worldwide. We are currently seeking a Sr Buyer/Planner to ensure the timely availability of direct and indirect materials, based in Mexicali, B.C., MX.

Responsibilities

  • Plan raw material and indirect material needs based on production requirements and forecasts.
  • Develop, execute, and update the material plan for each part weekly and monthly.
  • Generate, update, and follow up on purchase orders and production orders.
  • Confirm delivery dates and manage any deviations with suppliers.
  • Maintain an updated database of purchase orders for direct and indirect materials.
  • Ensure the availability of materials in the required quantity, quality, and date.
  • Prevent shortages and avoid production interruptions due to lack of materials.
  • Control inventory levels within the ranges established by the organization.
  • Follow the purchasing process from order placement to payment to the supplier.
  • Coordinate with internal and external suppliers on all supply-related activities.
  • Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Perform cost-benefit analysis to support decision-making.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects related to planning, purchasing, and inventory.
  • Collaborate with different areas of the organization to ensure the achievement of operational objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • More than 5 years of experience in materials planning and purchasing.
  • Proven experience in similar roles.
  • Experience in supplier management, purchase orders, and inventory control.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing applied to material control.
  • Knowledge of CPIM, CSCP, or related supply chain certifications.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 and 21 CFR Part 820.
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing or medical device environments.
  • Experience in high-traffic and high-mix warehouses.
  • Advanced experience in inventory control and optimization.
  • Identification of supply risks related to single-source suppliers, delivery times, capacity, or geopolitical factors.
  • Development of mitigation plans, such as dual sourcing and strategic safety stock definition.
