Sr. Manager Country Distribution Center

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Distribution Center Manager to join our team and focus on growing our own Grocery Store “tMart”. This is the region’s first cloud store concept offering 30-minute delivery of groceries at hypermarket prices. The service has expanded rapidly across Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Bahrain, Egypt, Oman, and Iraq!

Responsibilities

• Direct activities of the tMart supply chain (DC + Transp) function within the group incorporating strategic initiatives as well as tactical and operational functions.
• Manage the creation and effective execution of all projects.
• Define best practices, strategies, standard operating procedures, and policies throughout the logistics, in coordination with local managers.
• Train all personnel, in all countries on the developed SOPs, strategies, and policies.
• Monitor and ensure the implementation of standardization of best practices, processes, and procedures is carried out in coordination with local managers.
• Set performance measures and key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure regular monitoring and improvement of performance gaps.
• Manage/coordinate special projects (such as freight bidding, establishing an RDC, etc.).
• Complete process analysis, identify, and recommend improvement opportunities.
• Develop logistics network and ensure continuous monitoring of the network in terms of cost and efficiency.
• Ensure cross-functional coordination between logistics units and other divisions.
• Work on streamlining and reengineering the business processes through mapping the current processes, pinpointing non-value-add activities, and standardizing the new optimized processes.
• Work on developing the Logistics team through ensuring continuous training programs.
• Oversee the strategic planning process, including long-term expansion plans and supply chain network design.
• Oversee all the supply chain tactical and operational functions and ensure they run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
• Oversee all special projects for tMart, including establishing new warehouses, inviting freight forwarders for biddings, and designing the supply chain network.
• Oversee the regional supply chain architecture design.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years’ experience at a managerial level in Logistics and supply chain.
• University Graduate degree in Engineering (Business, Systems Engineering) or other related field + Master’s Degree.
• Very detail-oriented, structured, and know how to prioritize.
• Strong leader and passionate about developing others.
• Ability to interact with senior-level executives and manage the expectations of multiple stakeholders.
• Energized by the unknown and look forward to learning each day on the job.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, and always like to be hands-on with several tools.
• Fluent English and Arabic would be highly advantageous.
