Sr. Specialist FinTech - Payment Acceptance

Talabat, part of the Delivery Hero Group, is seeking a Sr. Specialist FinTech - Payment Acceptance to join our team in Berlin, Germany. This role is pivotal in navigating the complex fintech payments landscape, focusing on payment performance analytics and operational accountability.

Responsibilities

• Own payment performance analytics end-to-end: Independently diagnose root causes behind acceptance rate shifts, acquirer-level anomalies, and CPO movements.
• Validate claims: Through independent data analysis, verify claims from payment providers, product teams, and processing partners.
• Lead investigations: Conduct deep-dive investigations into payment performance issues and operational gaps, structuring findings clearly for senior director audiences.
• Project execution: Drive the end-to-end execution of projects, from evaluating feasibility and commercial viability to supporting rollout in partnership with cross-functional teams.
• Opportunity evaluation: Evaluate internal and external opportunities aligned with the fintech strategy, and project manage their execution.

Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in Strategy, or Operations roles within a tech, e-commerce, or fintech organization.
• Fintech knowledge: Deep working knowledge of the payments ecosystem, including acquirer processing, issuer decline logic, 3DS authentication flows, scheme rules, and settlement mechanics.
• Data analysis: Proficiency in data analysis tools (SQL and/or Excel/Sheets at advanced level, or BI platforms).
• Solution orientation: Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and urgency.
• Collaboration: Experience working cross-functionally across product, legal, marketing, fraud, and business operations teams.
• Leadership: Ability to lead through influence, driving cross-functional outcomes without direct authority.
• Analytical mindset: Naturally skeptical and intellectually rigorous, with the instinct to question assumptions, trace anomalies to their source, and validate conclusions through data.
