Job description

About the Position

Synopsys software engineers are key enablers in the world of Electronic Design Automation (EDA), developing and maintaining software used in chip design, verification, and manufacturing. They work on assignments like designing, developing, and troubleshooting software, leveraging the state-of-the-art technologies like AI/ML, GenAI, and Cloud. Their critical contributions enable worldwide EDA designers to extend the frontiers of semiconductors and chip development.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain full-stack web applications using the PANN stack: PostgreSQL, Angular, NestJS, and Node.js
  • Implement features across the entire application layer, from UI components in Angular to API endpoints in NestJS to database schema changes in PostgreSQL
  • Work with Prisma ORM to model data, manage migrations, and write clean database access logic
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and business teams to translate requirements into working software that solves real problems
  • Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and orchestrate services in environments managed with Kubernetes, Nginx, and Apache
  • Contribute to AI-enabled features including retrieval-augmented generation workflows, prompt engineering, and automation that pulls from internal knowledge repositories
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and help maintain production systems through monitoring, debugging, and performance tuning

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent hands-on experience building and shipping web applications
  • 5+ years of experience developing full-stack web applications, though stronger evidence of end-to-end delivery can matter more than years
  • Hands-on experience with the PANN technology stack: PostgreSQL, Angular, NestJS, and Node.js in real projects, not just side experiments
  • Solid working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and REST API design
  • Experience using Prisma or a comparable ORM for data modeling, schema migrations, and database access patterns
  • Familiarity with Docker for containerization and exposure to Kubernetes, Nginx, or Apache in deployment contexts
  • Practical exposure to AI technologies such as large language models, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, or automation workflows, whether through work, coursework, or personal projects
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, testing methodologies, and secure coding principles
  • Experience integrating systems through APIs and working with both relational and non-relational databases
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, you can explain what you built, why you built it that way, and what tradeoffs you made

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI technologies like large language models, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and automation workflows
