About the Position
We are conducting a search for a dynamic, thoughtful, and bright individual to join our client's Engineering team based in sunny and beautiful Santa Barbara, California.
Our client is seeking to add a key contributor to their development team who will be instrumental in the design, development, and delivery of several initiatives core to the future of their platform. The ideal candidate will be a strong JavaScript developer responsible for developing client-side JavaScript UI components, implementing them following well-known workflows (such as Flux or Redux). You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. You will coordinate with teammates working on different layers of the infrastructure. A commitment to collaborative problem-solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is a must.
Responsibilities
- Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code
- Optimize components for performance across a variety of web-capable devices and browsers
- Provide technical oversight, conduct code reviews
- Support, maintain, document, and write unit tests for software
- Work under general supervision on complex projects with latitude for independent judgment
- Assist less experienced teammates, as needed
- Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
- Thorough understanding of React and/or VueJS and their core principles
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs
- Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
- Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
- Experienced in Agile software development
