Context

Data privacy, or the protection of personal data, is today a major issue for many companies, particularly for companies with online services for their customers and those whose digital strategy core relies on big data and digital marketing.

The need to collect customer data and share this personal data between different company services (Sales teams, Customer Service, Digital, Marketing, etc.) or even with third parties is increasingly important in order to better attract customers on the one hand and better retain them on the other.

The need to protect sensitive data such as health data, lifestyle habits, geolocation has been reinforced by the entry into force of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) but also by the multiplication of data thefts (e.g., Equifax).

Digital marketing practices are developing, as are innovative uses, which introduce many opportunities for BtoC actors, while also causing fear among consumers and regulators. What are the solutions that can best protect this data while making it possible to implement these new uses? Do Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM) solutions today provide an answer to the regulatory requirements on the protection of personal data?

Objective of the Internship

The objective of this internship is to help Wavestone maintain its presence in the market by focusing on the protection of personal data in the context of customer relations.

It is also about analyzing the risks posed by digital marketing, big data projects, or any new digital use around data, and developing a set of appropriate best practices, both to fight against data theft and to meet regulatory constraints.

Tasks to be Performed

Under the supervision of a consultant and the guidance of a manager, the intern may be required to perform some or all of the following tasks:

• Understanding marketing uses and formalizing them in user-friendly models;
• Mapping data flows and processing of personal data;
• Analyzing privacy risks posed by innovative projects;
• Identifying the impacts of the GDPR on identity and access management in the context of customer relations;
• Analyzing the market to implement the advantages and limitations of CIAM solutions to comply with current regulations;
• Defining golden rules to be applied by digital project managers to effectively meet the expectations of the regulator and the general public.

Qualifications

Graduated or soon-to-be graduated from an engineering school, business school, or university, you have a solid education and/or a marked interest in technological and cybersecurity issues.

Above all, we are looking for curious, structured profiles with a strong analytical capacity, capable of intervening on complex issues and exchanging with both business and technical interlocutors.
