Technical Tooling Lead - Alation & Profisee

Location: London, UK

Working Pattern: 3 days on-site per week

Contract: September - 31st December 2026

Rate: £500-548 per day

IR35: Inside IR35

We are looking for an experienced Technical Tooling Lead to own the end-to-end delivery and rollout of Alation and Profisee within a complex enterprise environment.

This is a senior delivery-focused position combining technical oversight, programme leadership, Agile delivery management and senior stakeholder engagement.

You will act as the key coordination point between business stakeholders, data governance teams, technology functions, vendors and implementation partners, ensuring the successful implementation, adoption and operationalisation of data management capabilities.

Responsibilities

Delivery Leadership & Planning

• Lead the planning, estimation, resourcing and execution of Alation and Profisee implementation activities.
• Develop and maintain delivery roadmaps, project plans, milestones, dependencies and release schedules.
• Ensure delivery remains aligned with business objectives, governance requirements and programme timelines.

Stakeholder Management & Governance

• Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, data governance teams, technology teams, vendors and implementation partners.
• Facilitate workshops, steering committees and governance forums.
• Drive effective decision-making, issue resolution and stakeholder alignment.
• Manage expectations and maintain clear communication throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Agile Delivery Management

• Lead Agile delivery teams across backlog management, sprint planning and prioritisation.
• Manage dependencies, delivery tracking, risks, issues and impediments.
• Ensure delivery outcomes meet agreed scope, quality, timelines and budget objectives.

Reporting, Risk & Escalation

• Produce regular status reports, dashboards, RAID logs and executive-level updates.
• Identify, assess and actively manage delivery risks, issues and dependencies.
• Escalate critical decisions and blockers appropriately and drive timely resolution.

Technical Oversight

• Provide technical oversight of Alation and Profisee implementation activities.
• Support platform configuration, metadata onboarding, MDM deployment, integrations, testing and go-live planning.
• Ensure implementation follows appropriate architecture standards and best practices.
• Support operational readiness and transition into BAU teams.
• Coordinate knowledge transfer, support models and service readiness activities.

Requirements

Key Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Proven experience leading complex technology, data or data management implementations within enterprise environments.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams, vendors and senior stakeholders.
• Strong planning, estimation, reporting and risk management capabilities.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Data Governance
  • Metadata Management
  • Master Data Management (MDM)
  • Data Quality
• Experience leading the rollout or implementation of data management platforms such as:
  • Alation
  • Profisee
  • Collibra
  • Informatica
  • Microsoft Purview
  • Ataccama
  • or similar platforms.
