Transport Manager

About the Position

We are recruiting for an experienced Transport & Logistics Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy transport operation in Cork, Ireland. This is a hands-on management role suited to someone with a strong background in haulage, transport, or logistics.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily deliveries, routes, drivers, and vehicles
• Manage and support a team of drivers
• Ensure vehicles are available, maintained, and compliant
• Oversee driver hours, licenses, CPC, ADR, and transport compliance
• Coordinate servicing, repairs, and vehicle inspections
• Respond to operational issues including breakdowns, driver absences, and changing delivery requirements
• Monitor fleet and driver utilisation and improve operational efficiency
• Work closely with depots, customers, and internal teams
• Maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service

Requirements

• Valid Category C and Category CE driving licences – essential
• Previous hands-on experience driving rigid and articulated HGVs – essential
• Strong background in haulage, transport, logistics, or distribution
• Experience managing drivers and a busy transport operation
• Strong knowledge of Irish road transport regulations
• Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Confident making decisions and managing a team in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

• Experience in fuel distribution, ADR, bulk liquids, or another regulated transport environment
