At Accenture, you will work with talented people, leading technologies, and global expertise to solve complex challenges for some of Australia’s largest organizations.
This is an opportunity to build a rewarding technology career in Ballarat-combining meaningful enterprise work and access to Accenture’s global network with the lifestyle and community of a regional location. You will join a collaborative local team, continue developing your skills, and play an important role in delivering reliable technology services for a large-scale environment.
If you are looking for challenging work without needing to base your career in a capital city, this could be the opportunity for you.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Wintel Lead to provide technical leadership across a complex enterprise infrastructure environment.
You will set the technical direction for Windows Server, virtualization, networking, and hybrid identity services while mentoring team members and acting as the senior escalation point for critical infrastructure issues.
This role would suit a hands-on technical leader who enjoys solving complex problems, improving infrastructure performance, and working closely with stakeholders to deliver secure and reliable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of Windows Server services across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to Windows subject matter experts and administrators.
- Own and govern Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy across the enterprise.
- Manage and optimize Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM) for patching, software deployment, and compliance.
- Administer Microsoft Entra ID, including hybrid identity, Conditional Access, and device registration.
- Manage VMware vSphere and Nutanix environments, including capacity planning, patching, and performance optimization.
- Administer Infoblox for enterprise DNS and IP address management.
- Act as the senior escalation point for critical infrastructure incidents and lead post-incident reviews.
- Partner with architecture and security teams to maintain infrastructure standards and compliance.
- Translate stakeholder requirements into practical and supportable technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in Windows Server administration and infrastructure engineering, ideally across complex enterprise environments.
- Expert knowledge of Windows Server 2012 R2 through to Windows Server 2022.
- Deep hands-on experience with SCCM/MECM, including operating system deployment, software distribution, patch management, and co-management.
- Advanced Active Directory expertise covering domain design, domain controllers, Group Policy, trusts, and replication.
- Strong DNS administration experience, including Infoblox DDI.
- Experience managing Microsoft Entra ID within a hybrid environment.
- Strong VMware vSphere administration capability across vCenter and ESXi.
- Hands-on experience with Nutanix AHV, AOS, and Prism.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement based in Ballarat.
Nice to Have
- Experience with VMware vSAN.
- Microsoft Azure or broader hybrid cloud experience.
- Relevant certifications such as MCSE, VCP, or Nutanix NCA.
We Offer
At Accenture, you will be supported to learn, grow, and build a career that reflects your strengths and ambitions.
