About the Position

Position: Юрисконсульт

Truman Legal, the largest Ukrainian company providing comprehensive communication solutions, is seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to join our team in Ukraine. Specializing in Competition & Antitrust, Corporate and M&A, you will be part of a dynamic team of over 100 professionals in strategic and crisis communications, media lobbying, GR and advocacy, analytics, and legal services. Our clients include major Ukrainian businesses, Fortune Global 500 companies, and international organizations.

Responsibilities

• Preparation, analysis, and approval of commercial contracts with clients, contractors, service providers, landlords, and other counterparties.
• Verification of counterparties before contract execution: analysis through state registers and services (YouControl, OpenDataBot, etc.) for bankruptcy, legal disputes, tax debts; verification of signatories' authority (statutes, power of attorney).
• Preparation and management of NDAs (non-disclosure agreements) and confidentiality agreements with clients and contractors/partners of the firm.
• Pre-trial settlement of disputes with counterparties: drafting claims, gathering evidence in case of contract term violations (underpayments, delivery/payment delays, etc.).
• Development and updating of the firm's internal policies and procedures (confidentiality policy, personal data processing policy, document circulation regulations, anti-corruption policy, code of ethics, etc.).
• Internal compliance: monitoring adherence to established policies and procedures by the firm and its employees, monitoring legislative changes affecting the firm's activities as an employer and business entity.
• Labor law and HR consulting for internal clients (firm partners and employees): employment contracts, orders, internal regulations, leave issues, disciplinary responsibility, dismissal.
• Advising on labor law and HR management issues: interaction with the State Employment Service (inspections, requests, compliance of HR documentation).
• Advising on military registration and reservation of company employees.
• Maintaining a register of contracts and their validity periods, monitoring deadlines and key obligations of the firm.
• Supporting the firm's partners on current legal issues arising in business operations (structuring agreements, risk analysis, preparing legal opinions for internal needs).

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of contract and labor law; understanding of commercial law and compliance.
• Experience in preparing and approving contracts (including NDAs) with foreign companies and holdings.
• Attention to detail, ability to manage a significant number of contracts and documents simultaneously.
• Structurality, responsibility, and independence in work.
• Proficient written Ukrainian. English - B2/C1 level (legal/contractual specifics).

Requirements for Education and Experience

• Education: Higher legal education.
• Experience: 2-3 years as a legal counsel or in a law firm focusing on contract/HR work.
• Experience in independent contract preparation and management.
• Experience in labor law and/or HR consulting.
• Advantage: possession of a lawyer's certificate (not mandatory as the role does not involve court representation); experience in interacting with the State Employment Service; experience in developing internal policies and compliance procedures.

• Hybrid work schedule: 4 days in the office and 1 day remote. With the possibility of working remotely (with a designated office location and the ability to visit the office daily).
