About the Role

The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Thoracic Surgeon to join the Division of Cardiac, Thoracic & Vascular Surgery as an Assistant or Associate Professor. This is an opportunity to join an expanding academic practice at OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center, Oklahoma's only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-Designated Cancer Center, and help shape the future of thoracic oncology across the region.

Responsibilities

Become an integral member of a collaborative thoracic surgery team.
Expand referral networks and advance thoracic oncology throughout Oklahoma and the surrounding region.
Work alongside specialists in medical oncology, radiation oncology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, pathology, radiology, and research.
Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered cancer care.
Develop a broad thoracic surgery practice that includes:
- Lung cancer and benign pulmonary disease
- Esophageal surgery
- Foregut surgery
- Chest wall reconstruction
- Pleural disease
- Mediastinal pathology
- Robotic and minimally invasive thoracic procedures
Expand Oklahoma's statewide lung cancer screening program, including outreach through mobile screening initiatives.

Requirements

Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Thoracic Surgery
Commitment to academic medicine and surgical education
Experience or strong interest in multidisciplinary thoracic oncology
Interest in research, quality improvement, and program development
Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
Desire to contribute to the continued growth of an expanding academic division
