The Artificial Intelligence practice at Xpand IT develops generative AI solutions that transform the way our clients interact with their users and data. From intelligent chatbots to autonomous AI Agents, we build applications that leverage large language models (LLMs) and techniques such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to solve real business challenges.

As an AI Engineer, you will join our AI practice under the direct guidance of the Practice Leader. You will play a hands-on role in developing generative AI solutions, with opportunities to research, prototype, and grow your technical expertise in an environment that values critical thinking and structured problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Develop and iterate AI Agents using cloud-based generative AI platforms (LLMs, semantic search, document intelligence);
• Implement RAG patterns for chatbots and intelligent assistants;
• Build proofs of concept and prototypes to validate technical approaches;
• Research new capabilities, models, and generative AI frameworks;
• Support project teams in implementing AI solutions for clients;
• Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, and Delivery Managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions;
• Document solutions, architectural decisions, and lessons learned.

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with 1–2 years of experience in software development or related technology roles.

Programming

• Practical programming knowledge in Python and/or C#.

REST APIs and Integration

• Experience using and integrating REST APIs, with an understanding of system integration principles.

Analysis and Communication

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, combined with proactivity, autonomy, and a strong commitment to continuous learning.

Autonomy and Interest in AI

• Proactive and autonomous, with a strong focus on continuous learning and an interest in deepening knowledge of Artificial Intelligence.

Languages

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt technical concepts to different audiences, and fluency in written and spoken English.

Nice to Have

• Professional experience with cloud computing platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, including the use of cloud services in projects;
• Experience using generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) to support development, analysis, or process automation activities;
• Good knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, including querying, data manipulation, and analysis;
• Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and development collaboration tools such as Git, Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent;
• Previous exposure to or experimentation with solutions based on LLMs, AI Agents, RAG, or other generative AI technologies.
