Associate Software Engineer

About the Position

We are seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Poland, focusing on backend development and test automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot. Design, build, and consume RESTful APIs.
• Assist in developing and maintaining Business Process Management (BPM) workflows.
• Learn and work with AWS services such as EC2 and S3.
• Develop and maintain test automation solutions using Playwright and Java.
• Write clean, maintainable code following framework patterns and best practices.
• Execute comprehensive testing for new features and system changes.
• Collaborate with engineers to design and implement automation scenarios.
• Debug failures and investigate system issues.
• Support CI/CD processes using GitHub and Jenkins.
• Monitor application performance using tools such as Datadog and Elasticsearch under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues with support from the team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environment.
• Continuously learn new technologies and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Good knowledge of Java (Java 17+ preferred) with strong OOP fundamentals.
• Understanding of Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Basic understanding of RESTful API development.
• Clean code practices.
• Experience with at least one framework: Selenium, Playwright, or similar.
• Understanding of test design principles.
• Proficiency in Polish and English is required for this role.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Microservices architecture.
• Exposure to Docker or Kubernetes, and Jenkins or CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of BDD/TDD concepts.
• Contributions to GitHub or open-source projects.
• Exposure to data-driven testing patterns (Excel, JSON, CSV).
• Familiarity with API testing concepts and RestAssured.
• Knowledge of Maven or other build tools.
• Understanding of Guice or other dependency injection frameworks.
• Lombok usage for code generation.
