About the Product

Introduction

Our partner is a product company from the Netherlands, developing a modern Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) platform for automating risk management, compliance, and internal control processes.

The project involves a large-scale upgrade and expansion of the existing platform with a transition to an API-first architecture, ensuring flexibility, scalability, and easy integration with other systems. The platform is being developed entirely in TypeScript using a modern cloud-agnostic and containerized approach.

The team works in Agile processes with clearly defined tasks from domain experts, code review practices, Azure DevOps pipelines, SonarCloud security analysis, and Prometheus-based monitoring.

Your Team

You will join a cross-functional product team, working closely with QA Engineers, Domain Experts, and technical leadership on the client side. The team follows an informal Agile approach with daily stand-up meetings and prefers direct, ad-hoc communication (via chat or call) over scheduled meetings for everyday issues. English is used for documentation, backlog maintenance, and team communication.

Your Responsibilities

Develop and maintain backend services using NestJS and TypeScript.
Design and develop REST APIs following API-first principles.
Work with SQL and NoSQL databases on data-focused tasks.
Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms using OAuth and modern security standards.
Apply best software security practices in production-grade code.
Write unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
Work based on clearly described tickets prepared by domain experts.
Collaborate with the technical team and client-side management.
Participate in code reviews and adhere to peer-review and static analysis practices (SonarCloud and other security tools).
Work in an outstaff team in an informal Agile environment (daily stand-ups, refinements, ad-hoc design discussions).

About You

Have 3+ years of development experience.
Have experience with NestJS + TypeScript (or solid experience with Node.js and willingness to learn NestJS).
Have practical skills in integrating with SQL/NoSQL databases.
Know software security practices and have experience with production-grade systems.
Have experience designing and developing APIs with an understanding of RESTful principles.
Have experience with OAuth and modern authentication mechanisms.
Have practical unit testing skills.
Have experience working in Agile environments.
Speak English at an Upper-Intermediate level or higher.
Have experience working in Agile teams.
English level: Upper-Intermediate or higher.
Location: Europe only (candidate must be in the EU time zone).
