About the Position

Business Development Manager (f/m/d)

Instagrid is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive new business across the UK, with a strong focus on the rail sector. This is a fully remote role with extensive travel across the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Driving new business: Identify, target, and secure new opportunities across the UK, with a strong focus on rail.
  • Closing high-value deals: Negotiate and win six-figure orders with key decision-makers and influencers.
  • Building a portfolio: Grow a portfolio of high-value customers using your industry knowledge and market trends.
  • Executing sales strategy: Adapt strategy to your market for sustainable revenue growth and long-term customer relationships.
  • Managing your pipeline: Build a robust pipeline, forecast accurately, and adjust your approach to improve results. Your performance is measured on units sold and margin.
  • Influencing the market: Become a trusted voice in rail, construction, and energy sectors by attending events and staying ahead of trends.
  • Collaborating and reporting: Share market insights, customer feedback, and sales performance with colleagues in the UK and Germany.

Requirements

  • A proven record of winning new business and exceeding targets, including negotiating and closing six-figure deals.
  • A strong technical understanding that lets you explain the value of our products with confidence.
  • Commercial awareness: comfortable discussing margin, cost of goods sold, and P&L.
  • Accurate, disciplined forecasting.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK, and occasionally abroad.
  • Flexibility around working hours when customers and the business need it.
  • The drive and self-discipline to work fully remotely.
  • Fluent written and spoken English, and the right to work in the UK.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the rail sector, technical sales, electrical engineering, or electrical components.
  • Working directly for a manufacturer, or working in a start-up or scale-up.

We Offer

  • A dynamic environment in a fast-growing company with a very flat hierarchy.
  • The opportunity to join a company at the cutting edge of its field.
  • Fully remote working across the UK, with onboarding in Germany.
  • A laptop and a mobile phone.
  • 30 days’ paid holiday, plus 5 days’ special leave and public holidays.
