Responsibilities

• Advising insurance companies on the development, modernization, and implementation of claims management systems.
• Analyzing and optimizing claims processes-from claim reporting to processing and settlement to payout.
• Gathering, structuring, and implementing technical requirements in collaboration with departments, architects, and development teams.
• Designing and implementing process automation, business event steering, and workflow solutions.
• Designing integrations with financial and accounting systems, data warehouses, and other core systems in the insurance landscape.
• Providing technical advice on standards and ecosystems of the German insurance market, such as GDV-Schadennetz, workshop networks, and service provider connections.
• Supporting our clients in the implementation of innovative solutions in the areas of AI, document processing, and decision automation.
• Moderating workshops, steering technical discussions, and taking responsibility for sub-projects or project streams.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in IT or transformation projects for insurance companies, ideally in the claims environment.
• Deep understanding of the working methods of insurance companies or banks and their core processes and business models.
• Solid knowledge of claims processes in portfolio systems, especially claims processing, claims settlement, and benefit calculation.
• Experience with financial processes in the claims area, such as provisioning, reserves, payout, or payment transactions.
• Familiarity with the integration of claims and portfolio systems with solutions such as SAP FS-CD, data warehouses, or comparable financial systems.
• Familiarity with market standards and interfaces of the insurance environment, such as GDV messages, claims networks, workshop connections, or document examiner solutions.
• Experience in process modeling and automation, as well as with workflow, BPM, input management, or case management systems.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex technical challenges into sustainable IT solutions.
• Very good German and English language skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter, AdInsure Claims, MSG, Faktor Zehn, SAP FS-CD, or comparable core insurance systems.
• Experience with agile project methods and roles such as Product Owner, Business Architect, or Scrum Master.
• Consulting experience in international projects.
• Knowledge of modern AI solutions for:
  • Document extraction and classification
  • Fraud detection
  • Decision support
  • Workload and prioritization control
  • Automated document generation
