Cybersecurity Engineer

About the Position

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg, Republic of South Africa. This role requires deep technical expertise and independent tactical thinking to ensure the continuity, stability, and security of our IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lifecycle management and innovation

  • Maintenance and management of the lifecycle of IT infrastructure components.
  • Planning and executing maintenance, patching, upgrades, and replacement of systems.
  • Implementation of new tools, systems, and platforms.
  • Automate processes, and implement best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Infrastructure Architecture Team on new (security) solutions and designs.

• Maintenance and support

  • Performing regular maintenance, monitoring, and tuning of infrastructure.
  • Technical support on complex infrastructure environments.
  • Proactively identify and address safety issues.
  • Maintaining documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Coordination and collaboration with external suppliers and service providers.
  • Developing and executing advanced maintenance strategies for IT infrastructure.
  • Supervising and mentoring less experienced team members, and providing workshops and training in the field of cybersecurity.
  • Participating in internal and external audits, penetration tests, and making and implementing improvement plans.
  • Creating and ensuring follow-up on periodic reports in the field of cybersecurity.
  • Participate in the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CSIRT).

Requirements

• Education and Experience

  • HBO work and thinking level
  • Certifications such as Microsoft AZ104, SC900, AZ500, SC200; EC Council CEH; OffSec OSCP; ISC2 CISSP
  • Experience in implementing and managing IT infrastructure
  • Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Ansible, and Terraform
  • Proficiency in the English language verbally and in writing
