About the Position

Datenbankadministrator (m/w/d)

Medialine EuroTrade AG is looking for a skilled Datenbankadministrator to join our team in Wiesbaden. If you have solid experience with MS SQL Servers and are looking to grow in a stable and innovative environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Responsibilities

• Administration, maintenance, and optimization of MS-SQL databases (on-prem and Azure)
• Support for small customer projects in database optimization and cloud migration
• Assistance in migrations and cloud integrations (Azure SQL) under expert guidance
• Ensuring the availability, performance, and security of database environments
• Conducting and documenting backup and recovery processes
• Collaborating with the Application Operations Team for error analysis and resolution
• Actively participating in process documentation and best-practice development

Requirements

• Technical Skills:

  • Several years of practical experience in MS-SQL Server administration
  • Basic understanding of customer interaction and service mindset
  • Good knowledge of MS Active Directory, Azure SQL, and hybrid environments
  • Practical experience with PowerShell and T-SQL
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (SQL Profiler, Azure Monitor)
  • Understanding of IT security policies and access management
  • Initial experience in technical customer support
  • Basics of ITIL processes
  • Fundamentals of network technology

  • Team spirit and strong communication skills – Especially when interacting with colleagues from different departments
  • Responsibility and reliability – You tackle tasks and see them through to the end
  • Willingness to learn and openness – New technologies (Azure, MS Entra ID, etc.) or other databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) intrigue you

  • Excellent German language skills in speech and writing
