About the Position

Director of Credit Risk & Decision Science

Cambridge, ON (In-Office Only)

Our client is a Consumer Finance & Credit provider with 120 retail branches in Ontario. They are seeking a Director of Credit Risk & Decision Science to lead their Risk Modelling Group. In this role you will own all risk modeling, portfolio analytics, and decision-engine logic. This leader bridges data science and finance, building predictive systems that translate directly into credit performance and profitability.

Core Responsibilities

• Architect, train, and validate behavioral and application-score models (XGBoost, ANN, logistic regression).
• Integrate new data sources (TransUnion, open banking, internal customer data).
• Oversee loss forecasting, segmentation, and performance dashboards.
• Embed real-time credit decisioning into Evolve OS and Provenir.
• Translate analytics into lending policy and pricing strategy.

Profile

• 8+ years in credit risk, decision science, or fintech lending.
• Fluent in Python/SQL; understands both Gini curves and P&L implications.
• Can challenge, improve, and operationalize models built by others.
• Analytical, skeptical.
