We are headquartered in Berlin, Germany, and are backed by leading venture capital investors. We are now seeking a Director of Finance to lead our Accounting and Finance function.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and further develop the Accounting and Finance function, ensuring the achievement of objectives and delivering high-quality work.
• Accountability for financial operations, including Invoicing, Accounting, Controlling, budgeting, liquidity and cash flow management.
• Manage clearing and settlement on a global scale.
• Continuously monitor and drive process improvements within the Accounting and Finance function, leveraging automation and technology to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.
• Organize structured internal and external reporting that is compliant with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with Banks, Accounting Offices, Financial Authorities, and other stakeholders, and oversee external service providers.
• Monitor and manage the company's cash flow and foreign exchange, ensuring that there is adequate liquidity to meet the company's obligations.
• Monitor and analyze key financial metrics, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for informed decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with the CFO and other senior leaders to develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as product, technology, commercial, retail partnerships, and operations, to support strategic initiatives, business decisions, and financial planning.
• Provide guidance and support during due diligence processes for potential funding rounds.
• Provide leadership, development, and motivation, and set clear team and individual goals to develop and promote a sustainable team structure.

• Experience:

  • 8+ years of Professional Qualified Experience (PQE), preferably trained in a Big 4 firm.
  • Experience leading high-performing teams (10+ people).
  • Strong strategic, conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive “can do” attitude and eagerness to own and take responsibility for projects and processes.
