About the Position
Director of HR - Modesto, CA
Frank Group, Inc is seeking a Director of HR for our Modesto, CA location to lead all HR operations, ensuring compliance, fostering a positive culture, and driving talent acquisition and retention.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with company objectives and operational needs.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and succession management.
Talent Acquisition & Retention
- Lead recruitment initiatives for hourly, technical, and leadership roles across the organization.
- Build strong employer branding initiatives to attract and retain top talent in food manufacturing.
Employee Relations & Culture
- Act as a bridge between management and employees, fostering open communication and conflict resolution.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across all levels of the organization.
Compliance & Labor Relations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (FLSA, OSHA, EEOC, FMLA, etc.).
- Maintain HR policies and procedures consistent with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Provide oversight of safety and training programs in collaboration with plant operations.
Compensation & Benefits
- Manage compensation structures, benefits programs, and annual reviews to ensure competitiveness in the market.
- Partner with finance and leadership to align total rewards with business performance.
Performance & Development
- Drive performance management processes, leadership development, and training initiatives.
- Support coaching and mentoring efforts to build bench strength within the company.
Requirements
Core Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 8–10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally within food processing, CPG, or manufacturing.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and safety regulations.
- Demonstrated success in building HR infrastructure in mid-sized or growth organizations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills across diverse employee groups.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment with multiple stakeholders.
Additional Requirements
- Experience with HRIS and workforce management systems.
- Proven record of leading cultural change and driving employee engagement.
- Ability to travel between plant and corporate locations as needed.
