About the Position

Director of Software Engineering (Head Builder)

Cambridge, ON (In-Office Only)

Our client is a Consumer Finance & Credit provider with 120 retail branches in Ontario. They are seeking a Director of Software Engineering to architect and lead the rebuild of Evolve OS-an AI-driven platform connecting retail, lending, and analytics. This is a hands-on product role for someone who’s shipped customer-facing systems on a commercial scale.

Core Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end platform architecture (TypeScript,.NET, Kafka, PostgreSQL).
• Build and deploy real, revenue-driving products-not internal dashboards.
• Lead small pods, enforce velocity and code quality.
• Translate business logic and product vision directly into software.
• Partner with the Founder on roadmap, prioritization, and execution.

Profile

• 8+ years building and leading product-grade software systems.
• Proven record of shipping customer-facing platforms at commercial scale.
• Product- and business-literate-understands revenue as well as code.
• Writes code weekly, leads from the front.
