We are seeking a Director, People Partner – R&D Transformation (HRBP) to join our rapidly scaling global leader in Sports Tech. This role is pivotal in leading a massive R&D re-organization driven by AI’s impact.

About the Role

Reporting to the VP of Product Lifecycle, you will act as the strategic HRBP Director for the global R&D organization spanning 10 countries (including North America, Europe, and the India hub). This is a disruptive, ‘business-leader-first’ mandate focused on leading a massive R&D re-organization driven by AI’s impact challenging leadership to shift from high-volume output to strategic product roadmap delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organizational transformation of the global R&D org, defining future-state structures, talent requirements, and job descriptions.
• Conduct comprehensive talent assessments and drive strategic workforce planning across 10 international locations.
• Act as a proactive, disruptive business partner to R&D and Product leadership, challenging existing ideas to elevate strategic roadmap execution.
• Embed AI proficiency into the people strategy, helping leaders leverage AI tools and evaluate business/functional impact.
• Drive change management activities to transition engineering teams from tactical delivery to high-value strategic impact.
• Partner with global People Operations and Talent Acquisition to deliver seamless programs in compensation, performance, and succession planning.
• Leverage business and financial acumen to monitor people metrics, assess organizational risk, and support data-driven decisions.

Requirements (Must Have)

• 12+ years of progressive HRBP experience, with proven success in scaling complex, matrixed tech/SaaS organizations (500+ people, $100M+ revenue).
• Proven track record leading large-scale organizational redesigns or R&D/engineering transformation initiatives.
• ‘Business leader first’ mindset with strong financial acumen, strategic influence, and the confidence to challenge executive stakeholders.
• Demonstrated proficiency in AI concepts and an understanding of how AI transforms modern product development.
• Experience operating within global tech environments across multiple regions (Europe, North America, India).
• Career stability showing meaningful tenure and impact in previous roles.
• Exceptional written and spoken English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (~4 times/year for global leadership off-sites).

Nice to Have

• Background in Fitness Tech, Fintech, or dual SaaS/Payments business models.
• Advanced degree (Master’s preferred) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
