Quick Summary

We are hiring an Agricultural Engineer for our fruit farms in Odemira, Beja, Portugal. Join our team to optimize agricultural operations.

Responsibilities

• Accompany and optimize phytosanitary treatment programs, ensuring the protection and development of crops;
• Monitor irrigation systems, including moisture probes, flow rates, and pressures, contributing to the definition and implementation of irrigation strategies;
• Follow fertigation programs, ensuring adequate crop nutrition and analyzing technical indicators to support decision-making;
• Monitor pests, diseases, and the phenological state of crops, proposing or implementing corrective actions according to the level of experience;
• Manage and keep agricultural farm records updated, ensuring compliance with legal and certification requirements, as well as support for internal and external audits;
• Supervise and follow cultural operations, including planting, pruning, harvesting, ventilation, defoliation, and tutoring;
• Collaborate with production teams, contributing to the optimization of crop yield, quality, and development.

Requirements

• Degree in Agricultural Engineering or equivalent;
• Experience in agronomy roles, particularly in red fruit production (strawberries and raspberries);
• Good knowledge of English;
• Knowledge of other languages is valued;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365;
• SAP knowledge is valued;
• Ability to organize, analyze, and make decisions;
• Team orientation and ability to adapt to variable conditions;
• Category B driving license.
