Engineering Manager, Search Engine (all genders)

Salary: €100,000 - €120,000 per year

Responsibilities
- Manage and Lead: Oversee an experienced team of engineers, providing coaching, alignment, and performance management.
- Domain Health: Ensure our high-throughput, low-latency systems are robust, scalable, and consistently meet performance goals.
- Cost Optimization: Drive profitability and cost optimization, tackling architectural challenges to scale our system 10x.
- Technical Leadership: Act as a hands-on technical leader, staying close to the code, system design, and architecture.
Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience in managing and supporting senior engineering teams.
- Technical Skills: Highly technical, hands-on, and capable of understanding and guiding complex system architectures.
- Scalability: Proven track record in building, maintaining, and scaling high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.
- Optimization: Strong business and resource-optimization mindset with the ability to make strategic architectural decisions.
- Programming: Strong programming experience in any modern backend language and willingness to lead new development in Rust or Go.
- Ownership: Extreme ownership over domain health and comfort in an environment where technical challenges are prevalent.
- Language: Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
