Equity Sales Trader

About the Position

We are seeking a dynamic and client-focused Equity Sales Trader to join our Institutional Equities team. The ideal candidate will act as a critical link between our research analysts and institutional clients, executing trades efficiently while delivering market intelligence and client service at the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute institutional client orders with precision, ensuring best execution and adherence to compliance norms.
• Provide real-time market updates, trade ideas, and research insights to institutional clients (FIIs, mutual funds, insurance firms, etc.).
• Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing institutional clients and identify opportunities to expand the client base.
• Coordinate closely with the equity research team to communicate actionable insights to clients.
• Monitor market trends, liquidity, macroeconomic news, and technical indicators to advise clients proactively.
• Liaise with the back office and compliance teams to ensure smooth settlement and post-trade processes.
• Maintain trade records and ensure full regulatory and internal compliance at all times.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
• 3–7 years of relevant experience in institutional equity trading or sales trading.
• Strong understanding of equity markets, trading strategies, and institutional client behavior.
• SEBI/NISM certifications (such as Equity Derivatives, Research Analyst) preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client-handling skills.
• High attention to detail, with strong analytical and execution capabilities.
• Proficiency in Bloomberg, Reuters, and trading platforms.
