Fermentation products Research Programme Manager

About the Position

Objectif Sciences International is looking for a Project Leader to create a new participatory research project on the theme of fermented products. The project can be approached from various angles such as microbiology, anthropology, cooking, or smell, as long as the participatory research project is sound.

This participatory research project will take place all over the world, but will start as part of a vacation trip to Japan.

Example of possible projects:

• Deep understanding of effective micro-organisms effects on ecological balance and regulations
• Comparison of the microbiological composition of different fermented products according to different factors (brand, fermentation process, etc.)
• Study of the necessary and sufficient steps for the elaboration of a fermented product.
• Study of the microbiological diversity present in homemade fermented preparations.
• Impact of the various stages of manufacture of a fermented food on its physico-chemical and sensory characteristics (texture, color, smell, taste, composition...)

Non-exhaustive list, any project idea is welcome.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in the conception of the coherent scientific research project and in its pedagogical adaptation in a scientific way.
• Ensure the follow-up and the realization of your project with your groups of volunteers. It is essential to find the right balance between scientific rigor and the necessary adaptation to your audience.
• Conceive and implement a project to develop the program’s activity for a holiday camp, whether it is on scientific and/or pedagogical aspects.
• Develop scientific partnerships with research institutes.
• Analyze the data collected in the field, and valorize them.

Requirements

• High level training in the field of the project.
• Research experience.
• Experience in project management is highly appreciated.
• Interest in pedagogy and education (experience in this field is a plus).
• Dynamic, proactive.
• Entrepreneurial spirit.
• Ability to work independently but also in groups.
• Rigor and respect of deadlines.
• Creativity.
