FinOps Technical Expert

About the Position

We are looking for a FinOps Technical Expert to support two application product lines in improving cloud financial management and driving cost efficiency across cloud environments.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of finance, engineering, and cloud operations, helping teams gain greater visibility into cloud spending, improve budgeting and forecasting, and identify optimization opportunities without compromising service quality.

Work model: hybrid, 2 days per week in the office (Lisbon).

Responsibilities

• Define and implement FinOps strategies and best practices aligned with organizational standards;
• Support product management and financial processes, including cost allocation and cloud recharging mechanisms;
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cloud cost optimization target-setting activities;
• Analyze cloud consumption, spending patterns, and cost anomalies across multiple cloud platforms;
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and architecture teams to identify and deliver cost-saving initiatives;
• Drive FinOps governance, cost transparency, and financial accountability across product lines;
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and actionable insights on cloud expenditure and optimization opportunities;
• Implement tools and automation to improve cost tracking, reporting, and financial visibility;
• Translate complex financial and technical data into clear recommendations for business and technical stakeholders;
• Promote a cost-conscious culture while maintaining performance, reliability, and service quality.

Requirements

• Proven experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, or cloud financial analysis;
• Strong understanding of cloud operations, cloud architectures, and provider billing models;
• Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud;
• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, and IT financial management;
• Hands-on experience with IBM Cloudability;
• Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Power BI;
• Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to turn complex data into actionable business recommendations;
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly across finance, engineering, and product teams;
• Understanding of IT asset management or cost accounting.

Nice to Have

• Certifications from AWS, Microsoft Azure, or the FinOps Foundation;
• Experience supporting product finance processes and cloud cost recharging models;
• Background in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
