Head of Special Transport & Heavy Lift

About the Position

We are seeking a Head of Special Transport & Heavy Lift for our internationally operating logistics service provider in Germany, responsible for leading and developing heavy and special transport activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate teams and operations across multiple locations, ensuring close cooperation and regular presence at all sites
• Drive overall service quality, operational reliability, compliance, safety, and customer satisfaction
• Optimize organizational structures, workflows, capacity utilization, and inter-location cooperation
• Maintain and develop relationships with key accounts as senior point of contact for strategically important customers
• Collaborate closely with the COO and relevant functions at Group headquarters
• Contribute to strategic development and sustainable growth of the Special Transport & Heavy Lift business in Germany
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, safety, and quality requirements

Requirements

• Several years of management experience, ideally with responsibility for multiple locations or geographically distributed teams
• Extensive professional experience in heavy haulage, special transport, oversized transport, or project logistics
• Strong organizational and process-management skills
• Commercial mindset with a good understanding of operational performance and profitability
• Confident and professional approach when dealing with key accounts and senior customer representatives
• Pragmatic, hands-on leadership style combined with strategic thinking capabilities
• Willingness to travel approximately 30% within Germany and Europe
• Fluent German and good English skills; additional languages advantageous but not essential
