Job description
About the Position
We are seeking a Head of Transport Operations to manage our fleet and last mile delivery operations, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries.
Responsibilities
A. Fleet
- Budget and Cost Planning: Plan the budget and costs of the fleet and take full financial responsibility (P&L) for the area.
- Fleet Team Coordination: Coordinate the work of the fleet team and oversee operations: maintenance, service, and vehicle availability.
- Fleet Ownership Model: Develop a target fleet ownership model (leasing, long-term rental, purchase of used vehicles, hybrid model with coordinators) and present strategic recommendations to the management.
- Vehicle Operation Processes: Design vehicle operation processes and standards, including a co-responsibility model for coordinators and drivers for damages and road incidents.
- Fleet Work Instrumentation: Instrument the work of the fleet area to improve vehicle control, including the implementation of an alert system (fuel consumption, speed, engine RPM, driver-vehicle-route assignment) and consolidation of fleet data into a coherent ecosystem.
- Operational Compliance: Ensure operational compliance with customer quality requirements (e.g., maintaining temperature during transport, delivery timeliness) to minimize contractual penalties.
- Contract Negotiation and Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers: lessors, service providers, insurers, and strategic partners.
B. Last Mile
- Operational Efficiency: Ensure the smooth operation of logistics operations in the last mile area and at cross-docks (receiving deliveries, unloading, quantity and quality control) through process improvement and execution.
- Last Mile Area Reorganization: Organically reorganize and coordinate the work of the last mile area-defining roles, areas of responsibility, and KPI indicators for individual functions.
- Quality Improvement: Strive for continuous improvement in quality indicators-proposing and implementing corrective actions (e.g., reducing recurring non-deliveries, reducing warehouse shortages).
- Operational Best Practices: Identify and scale good operational practices between branches and raise standards in hubs achieving lower results.
- Regional Coordinator Collaboration: Collaborate with independent and internal regional coordinators and develop cooperation models (rental agreements, coordinator agreements).
C. Operational Coordination and Structure Development
- Leadership Competency Building: Build and develop the competencies of operational leaders in both areas (Fleet, Last Mile).
- Priority Setting: Define operational priorities, objectives, and KPI indicators for executive teams and verify their implementation.
- Operational Communication: Ensure smooth operational communication with coordinators and drivers, including improving communication channels and tools.
D. Cross-Departmental Cooperation and Reporting
- Middle Mile Collaboration: Close cooperation with the Middle Mile area to ensure the fluidity of the entire supply chain-from warehouse to end customer.
- Sales Support: Operational support in the implementation of transport service sales agreements and cooperation with the commercial department in setting SLA conditions for new customers.
- Periodic Reporting: Periodic reporting of results (KPI) of both areas to the management and conducting operational reviews with the management team.
- Strategic Goal Monitoring: Monitor, plan, and oversee the achievement of the company's strategic goals in the transport area.
Requirements
- Experience in managing large-scale logistics or transport operations (preferred: Last Mile, e-commerce, FoodTech, or delivery).
- Experience in managing a vehicle fleet (at least several dozen to several hundred units) and practical knowledge of tools supporting fleet processes.
- Documented successes in building processes and coordinating teams in a dynamically changing operational environment.
- Ability to build logistics processes from scratch.
- Experience in budget and financial result management (P&L).
- High analytical skills and the habit of making decisions based on data.
- Experience in negotiating commercial contracts (leasing, services, insurance, B2B agreements with subcontractors).
We Offer
- MultiSport card: You receive preferential conditions for yourself and your loved ones.
- Paid break during service: You benefit from a paid break and flexible working hours, allowing you to handle personal matters during the day.
- Team and company integration events: You integrate with your team and the entire company during outings and events, because we build good relationships not only at work.
- Luxmed medical care: You and your family gain access to comprehensive medical care, from tests to hospital treatment, on attractive pricing terms.
- Life insurance on preferential terms: You and your loved ones can benefit from insurance protection, the cost of which depends on the selected option and your position.
- Discount on meal box catering: Lorem ipsum
- Charity activities: You can help others by participating in individual volunteering or company-organized initiatives.
