Responsibilities

Business Partnering

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with managers and employees across your business area
  • Develop a strong understanding of business priorities and translate them into relevant HR support
  • Attend team meetings and business forums to stay close to operational needs and priorities
  • Provide timely, accurate and pragmatic HR guidance on people matters

Talent & Performance

  • Support managers in identifying high-potential individuals and flagging succession risks
  • Facilitate individual development planning and performance conversations with managers
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on role briefs, interview processes and hiring decisions
  • Track attrition trends within your area and escalate talent risks proactively

Employee Relations

  • Manage employee relations cases (disciplinary, grievance, performance) with guidance from senior HRBPs
  • Apply employment law knowledge to provide sound advice on people risk to managers
  • Coach managers through difficult conversations, providing structure and support
  • Escalate complex or high-risk cases in a timely and well-documented manner

HR Process & Compliance

  • Implement HR policies, processes and programmes consistently within your area
  • Coordinate with HR Operations, TA, L&D and Comp & Reward to deliver a seamless HR service
  • Support the delivery of cyclical HR processes: performance reviews, promotions, engagement surveys
  • Identify process gaps and escalate with constructive suggestions for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and ARRISE policies at all times

Data & Insight

  • Track and interpret key people metrics for your area: headcount, attrition, absence and engagement
  • Use data to inform and support business cases and manager conversations
  • Identify trends or anomalies and bring observations forward with context and recommendations

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; able to earn trust quickly at all levels
  • Good working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
  • Comfortable interpreting HR data and people metrics to support decisions
  • Clear, empathetic and professional communicator in both written and verbal formats
  • Organised, delivery-focused and able to manage multiple competing priorities effectively
  • Curious about the business - you seek to understand context, not just resolve requests
