About the Project

We are looking for an experienced Python Engineer to join our team responsible for embedded software (Embedded Firmware/Hardware). We create an advanced environment for HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) test automation and hardware emulation (e.g., button stimulation, control of analog interfaces via DAC/ADC).

Important: This is not a QA/Automation role focused on writing test cases. We are looking for a tool architect who will design and implement cleanly written abstraction layers, frameworks, and contracts that the rest of the engineering team will work on.

Role Description

Your goal is to create a robust, scalable, and maintainable SDK/framework in Python. You will work closely with the Lead Architect, defining the structure of classes, configuration modules, and hardware abstractions shared between different product lines and device versions.

Responsibilities

• Design abstract interfaces (ABC) defining consistent contracts for hardware emulation components.
• Create immutable configuration objects that validate their properties at build time.
• Design interface compositions and solve multiple inheritance issues (C3 MRO, preventing metaclass conflicts).
• Implement feature flags for hardware characteristics using bitwise operations.
• Implement thread-safe, lazily computed, and cached properties for expensive device states.
• Write comprehensive architectural documentation and create sets of contract and mutation tests.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Python experience: Focus on creating libraries, frameworks, SDKs, or internal tools (Senior/Architect level).
• Deep knowledge of Python internals: abc.ABCMeta, @abstractmethod, and architectural compromises. dataclasses (frozen=True, kw_only=True), post_init, and advanced mutation (object.setattr). Multiple inheritance, C3 linearization (MRO), and preventing "God Object" architectures. enum.IntFlag and bit algebra. functools.cached_property – thread safety, restrictions with slots and frozen classes.
• Architecture Testing: Experience in creating contract, unit, and property-based tests (pytest, hypothesis).
• Hardware Understanding: Comfortable working with emulator concepts, signals, and drivers (no need for C/C++ coding).
• Documentation: Ability to precisely describe thread contracts and guarantees in technical documentation.

Nice to Have

• Experience in testing HID devices or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments.
• Practice with mutation testing and advanced pytest plugins.
