About the Position
We at devspiration are seeking a Lead General QA Engineer to join our team. This role provides an opportunity to drive QA excellence on a large-scale modular & microservices ecosystem for an enterprise-level client-one of the "Big Four" professional financial services firms.
The position is focused primarily on automation testing (approximately 80%), with around 20% dedicated to manual testing activities.
Responsibilities
- Act as a key point of contact for all QA-related activities, including test planning, execution, reporting, and automating
- Design and implement automated tests (UI, API, database) using Playwright, Selenium, and modern tooling
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure stability across multiple environments
- Perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot automation failures, and support developers in defect resolution
- Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, processes, and automation efficiency
- Plan and prioritize testing activities, aligning with project goals and timelines
- Report problems in a bug tracking system and follow up towards resolution
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and test managers, to ensure seamless integration of QA activities
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience as a General QA Engineer with a strong focus on test automation, including at least 1 year in a lead role
- Strong C# programming skills are essential
- Strong hands-on experience with automation tools: Playwright, Selenium
- Strong understanding of UI, API, and database testing, including SQL proficiency
- Experience with AI/LLM-assisted automation-optional but beneficial
- Proven track record of leading QA teams and driving quality improvement initiatives
- Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
- English: Upper-Intermediate or higher
