Manager of Quality Engineering - Millennium Space Systems
El Segundo, California; Los Angeles, California
Responsibilities
- Lead and Manage a Team: Develop and grow a team of Quality Engineers to support the dynamic needs of the business.
- Day-to-Day Operations: Assign and delegate work across the team to support operations.
- Drive Solutions: Lead root cause and corrective action investigations to solve the biggest operational problems.
- Resolve Discrepancy Reports: Own the resolution of Discrepancy Reports in operational areas, including suppliers.
- Partner with Teams: Collaborate closely with manufacturing, integration, supply chain, engineering, and program teams to promote safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
- Develop Quality Requirements: Create and enforce quality requirements throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Quality Management System Activities: Lead activities such as internal audits, calibration management, and nonconformance management.
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years with an advanced degree.
- Knowledge: Working knowledge of design, fabrication, integration, and testing methodologies.
- Standards: Intermediate knowledge of AS9100 quality standards.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
Nice to Have
- Root Cause Analysis: Solid understanding of multiple root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
- Leadership Experience: 1+ years of experience in a leadership position with direct reports.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the aerospace industry.
- Statistical Analysis: Experience performing and applying statistical analysis methodologies.
- Manufacturing Experience: Familiarity with PCBA manufacturing, electromechanical assembly, propulsion production, structures fabrication, and vehicle integration and test.
