Manufacturing Engineer (Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior)

About the Position

Bring your ideas to life at Boeing, where we innovate and collaborate to make the world a better place. We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior) to join our team at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, in Wichita, KS.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply teams to develop and guide the program manufacturing and tooling plan.
• Ensure the identification and implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies and improve manufacturing processes in support of the type design.
• Use process engineering principles and techniques.
• Develop, establish, and guide requirements for assembly, tooling simulations, and manufacturing configurations.
• Perform trade and cost studies and assist in leading integrated product and process teams.
• Apply knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
  • Composite non-metallic
  • Electrical/Electronics
  • Machining
  • Sheet metal
  • Systems and Structures

Requirements

• Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • 2+ years of related engineering experience.

• Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Mid-level (Level 3): 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Senior (Level 4): 9+ years of related work experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of engineering systems and the ability to deploy the Continuous Improvement Toolset.
  • Detailed knowledge of design methods on 2D and 3D design platforms with excellent drawing/design interpretation skills.
  • Practical engineering knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of metallic & composite manufacturing techniques & treatment processes.
  • Fluent working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of CATIA.
