Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for an Associate or Experienced Manufacturing Engineer (Level 2 or 3) to join our team in Smithfield and Lemont Furnace, Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

  • Provides production support during all phases of manufacturing
  • Creates bill of material and production build plans while leading and implementing manufacturing plans
  • Develops and implements production and tooling methodologies
  • Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines
  • Develops, identifies, and implements conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for build
  • Conducts producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements
  • Assists in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices
  • Analyzes design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions
  • Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost, or schedule
  • Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies, and concepts
  • Validates and ensures production readiness of solutions to complex problems
  • Implements lean principles and technologies

Requirements

  • Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
    • 2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings
    • Must be able to work 2nd shift
  • Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experience in electrical/electronics manufacturing
    • Experience in 3D Modeling applications such as Catia, Siemens NX, Creo
    • Experience using manufacturing execution systems such as TipQA Shopfloor Execution or Costpoint
    • Experience in creation of manufacturing planning and lean manufacturing
