Principal Automation Quality Engineer (AI expertise)

In Bulgaria within the Banking industry, we are actively seeking a professional to strengthen our team. As Principal Test Automation Consultant with AI focus, you will consult and support delivery teams in analyzing, improving, and scaling their test automation landscape across projects and clusters.

Responsibilities

Analyzing and assessing test automation landscape in projects and clusters
Identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
Consulting Leads and teams in definition and improvement of test automation strategies
Consulting on selection and implementation of automation frameworks and tools
Supporting integration of test automation into CI/CD pipelines
Supporting usage of test environments and test data
Designing and executing proof-of-concepts (POCs) to validate solutions, especially AI-driven approaches
Introducing and promoting AI-supported testing approaches, including test generation, analysis/optimization, and support for AI agents
Developing and providing reusable assets, such as templates, framework components, best practices, and documentation
Driving adoption and standardization of test automation practices, including trainings, demos, community contributions, and cross-team collaboration

Requirements

Test Automation Expertise (hands-on) – Designing and implementing automation frameworks, defining best practices, improving maintainability and scalability
Playwright / Selenium – Strong automation/Playwright experience in enterprise environments
Automation framework architecture and standardization
AI in Testing – Practical AI in Testing experience (preferably including AI agents, AI-assisted test generation, analysis, or POCs)
CI/CD Pipelines – Integration of automated tests into delivery pipelines, configuration, and optimization
Test Automation Frameworks – Deep understanding of architecture patterns and framework design
Test Environments – Understanding of environments, service virtualization, and dependencies
Test Data Provisioning – Managing test data and supporting stable test execution
Experience creating reusable assets, best practices, and training materials
