About the Position
We are seeking a Principal Engineering Manager to lead a critical engineering area and raise the bar for how we build and deliver products. This is a senior leadership role for someone who combines strong engineering judgment with a deep sense of ownership.
Responsibilities
- Leading a team of engineers and supporting them through clear direction, context, and feedback.
- Partnering with Product and Design to shape solutions from the earliest stages.
- Owning delivery from problem definition to execution, ensuring clarity, alignment, and momentum.
- Driving predictable execution through thoughtful planning, realistic expectations, and transparency around progress and risks.
- Maintaining a high bar for engineering quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Contributing to broader engineering improvements through experience, collaboration, and strong leadership.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams in a product company.
- 10+ years of background in software engineering, including software engineer/developer roles.
- Comfortable designing and operating distributed, service-oriented systems.
- Experience working in both back-end and front-end.
- Partially hands-on role, so being open to going and building things if needed (coding with the use of AI/conducting code reviews/making architectural decisions, etc.).
- A strong track record of delivering complex products or systems in a fast-moving environment.
- Ability to operate comfortably in both technical and product discussions.
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to bring clarity to ambiguous situations.
- Experience partnering closely with Product and Design.
- Clear communication skills and a practical, execution-oriented approach to leadership.
