We are seeking a Principal System Engineer to join our engineering team in Kodaira, Japan. This role involves leveraging strong technical knowledge of our existing high-side switches portfolio, deep understanding of the technologies, standards, and protocols within an industry or end equipment, and an ability to engage with customers and translate their requirements into technical specifications that will solve their problems.

Responsibilities

Systems (80% - 90% of the job responsibility):

• Leverage strong technical knowledge of our existing high-side switches portfolio, deep understanding of the technologies, standards, and protocols within an industry or end equipment, and an ability to engage with customers and translate their requirements into technical specifications that will solve their problems.
• Competitive benchmarking and tracking the latest research in the vehicle power distribution domain.
• Interface and lead discussions with the customer and TI field teams to understand customer designs, problems, and support as required.
• Balancing innovation with execution to ensure that the IPs are demonstrated in silicon in a timely manner.

Safety (10% - 20% of the job responsibility):

• Deriving, defining, and verifying safety requirements from higher-level system requirements.
• Contributing to the definition of chip-level safety architecture in line with ISO 26262.
• Performing and reviewing safety analyses such as DFMEA, DFA, FMEDA, and FTA.

Requirements

Must-have:

• Bachelor's or higher in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Deep understanding of commonly used analog circuits and blocks in power products.
• Deep understanding of electro-thermal analysis.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.
• Ability to take the initiative and drive for results.
• ISO26262 IC product experience.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with automotive power management.
• Experience with power switches.
• Experience with power packaging technology.
• FuSa certification.
• Experience with thermal simulators.
• Experience with circuit/block simulators.
• Experience with PCB design.
• Experience with EMC design.

Language Proficiency

• English proficiency is required (Can engage in business conversation around TOEIC 700 points).
