Python Developer (routing algorithms, e-commerce)

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Python Developer with expertise in routing algorithms and e-commerce to join our team. You will work remotely from Warsaw, Poland.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the design and scaling of high-throughput services powering first-mile and last-mile delivery logistics operations.
• Co-developing Allegro's next-generation Delivery Optimization Engine (DOE) using network analysis and spatial optimization.
• Developing and implementing routing algorithms.
• Directly impacting and improving the efficiency of the company's logistics processes.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of commercial experience in backend software development using Python and SQL.
• Experience in or very good knowledge of the logistics domain, network analysis, and routing (e.g., graph theory, road network modeling, Vehicle Routing Problem – VRP).
• Experience with programmatically utilized geospatial data (e.g., H3, spatial indexing, clustering algorithms, PostGIS).
• Knowledge of cloud environments (Google Cloud Platform preferred) and modern infrastructure tools (Kubernetes, Terraform, Airflow).
• Promote engineering best practices, such as: Clean Code, TDD (Test Driven Development), CI/CD, rigorous code review.
• Ability to design and scale microservices-based architecture.
• Positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and hold a university degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• Good command of English and Polish.
• Readiness to participate in workshops at the client's office in Warsaw once per month.
