Quality Assurance Analyst III

About the Position

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst III with 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance Testing using Quality Center toolset to join our team in Melville, NY.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, configuration, implementation, advocacy, and support of HP Quality Center deployment and usage.
• Configure Quality Center based on MSC needs, including base domain and project creation, field customizations, requirements and test plan structure setup, and basic workflow implementation.
• Act as the expert for the set-up, maintenance, scheduling, and reporting of a test program through the use of Quality Center.
• Responsible for test plan and test lab set-up, importing requirements and test cases, requirements traceability, test lab execution processes and status, test case creation review processes and status, and defect reporting processes and status.
• Provide leadership and direction regarding Quality Center and testing best practices for multiple teams.
• Own the reporting of software quality metrics and define and track quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results, and test status.
• Interface between the IS Applications Development team and functional groups.
• Participate in cross-functional team/task forces to identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement.
• Validate testing using manual procedures, testing tools, and SQL, and interface with developers and business analysts to resolve software defects.
• Lead the definition and implementation of quality assurance practices and procedures.
• Develop and execute formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications.
• Perform stress, load testing, and regression testing of applications as required.
• Lead all Test Phase functions, including test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation, and test execution.
• Communicate plans and results to the functional business areas, IT Development Teams, and management.
• Assess problems and solutions from a business perspective with a focus on customer needs.
• Liaise with the IT Technical Development team to ensure cost-effective, high-quality solutions.
• Collect and analyze data for software process evaluation and improvements, integrating them into business processes.
• Address daily support issues with urgency and ensure resolutions solve the root of the problem.
• Work closely with the Help Desk for application support, training, and problem identification.
• Deliver quality process training to technical staff and act as an internal quality consultant.
• Stay current with new technologies to best support MSC.
• Attend training, seminars, webinars, user groups, and other events to maintain knowledge of current trends and technologies.
• Responsible for MSC IT Development Change Control process, including developing and managing the process, tracking and reporting on key metrics, and leading all Change Control efforts.
• Mentor and coach fellow associates regarding SDLC and QA processes.
• Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Foster the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company.
• Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.

Requirements

• 3+ years of system and software development life cycle experience.
• 3+ years of Quality Assurance Testing using Quality Center toolset.
• Experience with creating and executing testing for both manual and automated testing.
• Clear, verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively.
