About the Position
Research Scientist (GenAI/LLM)
We are looking for a Research Scientist with a data-centric mindset to join our applied research and innovation team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning, deep learning, language models, GenAI, AgenticAI, and process automation. You will be responsible for analyzing data, researching the most appropriate techniques, and the development, testing, support, and delivery of proof of concepts to resolve real-world and large-scale challenging problems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and apply machine learning innovations by collaborating with other team members and company stakeholders.
- Understand the requirements and communicate results and conclusions accurately, clearly, and effectively.
- Perform feasibility studies and analyze data to determine the most appropriate solution.
- Work on many different data challenges, ensuring simplicity, scalability, reproducibility, and maintainability within the ML solutions and source code.
- Collaborate with other technical fellows on the integration and deployment of ML solutions.
- Work as a member of a team, encouraging team building, motivation, and cultivating effective team relations.
Requirements

Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Maths, or an equivalent numerate discipline.
- Hands-on expertise in Machine Learning, NLP, LLMs, GenAI, AgenticAI, and data science.
- Understanding and practice of prompt engineering, RAG, document processing, and fraud detection.
- EDA analysis and practical hands-on experience with datasets, ML models, and evaluations.
- Proficiency in Python, Pytorch, Git, pandas, dask, polars, sklearn, huggingface, docker, databricks.
- Analytical mindset, problem-solving, and logical thinking capabilities.
- Proactive attitude, constructive, intellectual curiosity, and persistence to find answers to questions.
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills in English and strong ability to meet deadlines.
- Keen to work as part of a diverse team of international colleagues and in a global inclusive culture.
- A minimum of 2-5 years’ experience with evidence in a related ML field.

Desired Skills
- PhD/Masters in a specific area of AI/ML with published papers.
- Experience working with large datasets, production-grade code, and operationalization of ML solutions.
- Understanding & practice of LLMs & Generative AI (prompt engineering, RAG).
- Previous experience with tabular data, anomaly detection, time series forecasting, automated classification.
- Experience in MLOPs (MLFlow, Prefect) and deployment of AI/ML solutions to the cloud (esp. Azure).
- Previous experience in retail, consumer, ecommerce, business, FMCG products (NielsenIQ portfolio).
We Offer
- Salary: 38,400 to 46,500 EUR gross per year. Placement within the range will depend on objective criteria including experience, skills, and internal equity considerations.
